During the development of our instrumentation product line, our design engineers noticed that many of the sensors that they were expected to interface with had poor tolerances that could dramatically throw off gauge readings.

Although some of these inaccuracies could be smoothed or averaged out within the gauge's software, getting accurate gauge readings was hit and miss. With this fact in mind, Insight’s engineers created a small line of sensors we call TruTemp Sensors.

We currently offer an outside air temperature sensor, and for marine applications, our unique through hull surface temperature sensor, which is great for fisherman and water skiers. In the future we plan to add precision engine coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, and transmission temperature sensors.

Insight’s gauges will work with any old sensor, but if you really care about accuracy, protection, and reliability, you are going to want to use our sensors. Our sensors are computer tested and calibrated to ensure that their output is consistent and accurate throughout the entire temperature range. Each sensor comes with it own specification sheet detailing its accuracy and performance.
